ETHEREAL was formed in 2002; intent on creating darkened extreme black metal in the UK scene. The first release “Hell’s Divine Existence” was their first EP- released in 2004 after numerous shows and several line up changes. This was followed by the “Revelation Beast” EP in 2010. A fresh lineup in 2013 brought forth new ideas and in 2014, the band signed to Candlelight Records. They immediately set about recording their debut album. Mixed by the world reknowned Wieclawski brothers at Hertz Studios (PL) ”Opus Aethereum” was released in January 2015, along with a video for the song “Unholy Ungodly”. The album was acclaimed by both critics and fans alike for its combination of savage brutality and symphonic grandeur. Work started on the second full length album in 2016 whilst exstenive touring of Opus Aethereum continued. In early 2020, new members added their mark on this well overdue release and have levelled the standard of performance and drive needed to help the band cut through.. ETHEREAL has now completed work on their second album (Due mid 2020), which builds on the strength of earlier works whilst showcasing a different approach to the genre as a highly anticipated In British black metal album.
