Formally from Johannesburg Southern Suburbs, Rissy God is an MC/Songwriter with a direct, laid-back flow with confident lyrics about his life experiences, life, woman and the expiriences in and around his community. He grew up listening to 90's Rock Bands such as Linkin Park, Metalica, Greenday and Nickleback and at the same time having enjoyed the music his young mom at the time was into, the likes of Brenda Fassie, Bob Marley And UB40 But when he heard Detriot Rapper Eminem, he became fascinated by Rap music & culture. Initially a member of a group called Peace Disturbors in Grade 9, Rissy God set out on his own after high school to find and perfect his own style and identity, releasing his debut THIT, as a free download in 2017. With minimal promotion the release gained a word-of-mouth following and Rissy a good social media following, attracting the attention of G24 and Farm Boy Hydro(who would feature on Rissy's 1st single 'Why you hating on me'). A Second mixtape Aftershoxk, followed in the summer of 2018. Mixtape garned online radio plays & songs like Uberoverload, Own It & Mxxn Mvn became staples on local community radio. The same year he started his own label Gxd body World. His recent release "THIT2" came in 2019 with features from the likes of Frank November, Hazy J, D'ell richards and Dank Moses. The project includes the songs La Vida and Selina(featuring Portlands Luc Lang), earlier that year Rissy dropped Black Child Part 1, Secret & Elevators.
