Biography

Kartel Rell is a recording artist from Bushwick, Brooklyn. He has been rapping since he was 9 years old and raps in detail about his life growing up on the New York City street. His influences range from DMX, Big Pun to Bjork and Rage Against The Machine. No stranger to hard work, his parents instilled in him a dedicated work ethic, as his mother is a teacher and his father worked his way up from a dishwasher to an executive chef at one of the top restaurants in the city. Kartel valued the importance of being book smart but also street smart. The path he took was a little different than that of his parents. Rell ran the New York City streets relentlessly and immersed himself in all different scenes and walks of life. He promoted and hustled in some of NYC's top nightclubs such as 1 Oak, Catch, Up & Down, and Tao among others. “To Live And Die In The MoMa” (The Ghost of Picasso) is Kartel Rell first EP and is entirely produced by Don The Jeweler and executive produced by ClockWork Cros. Rell's tenacious execution, raw uncut bars and ferocious delivery takes the listener on a journey through his life and experiences with Don's nostalgic samples and golden era sounds. The project boasts features from artists like Dot Demo, Downtown Dion, Bub Styles, Ace SL, and Xavrsosa. http://kartelrell.com/
