Described as "Exquisite" by the New York Times, and "of beautiful sound and impeccable technique" by The Strad, Cuarteto Quiroga pays tribute to the great Galician violinist Manuel Quiroga, is the recipient of Spain’s National Music Prize 2018, quartet-in-residence at Madrid’s Cerralbo Museum and for years resident quartet at the Stradivarius Collection of Madrid’s Royal Palace. Considered as one of the most dynamic and unique quartets of its generation, internationally recognized by critics & audiences for its bold and original approach to the repertoire, awarded at the most prestigious international competitions (Bordeaux, PaoloBorciani, Geneva, Beijing, Paris), as well as the Spanish Radio Culture Prize (OjoCrítico) and the Gold Medal of Barcelona’s Palau, Cuarteto Quiroga performs regularly at the world's most important stages, from Berlin to New York, including Amsterdam, Paris, London, Stockholm, Rome, Prague, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Ottawa, Washington DC, etc. Frequent partners include Martha Argerich, Javier Perianes, Veronika Hagen, Valentin Erben, Jörg Widmann, Nicolas Altstaedt, @Meta4 & Doric String Quartet. Their CDs, recorded for Cobra and HarmoniaMundi, have been acclaimed by the international press and their concerts recorded & broadcast by radio stations of Europe & the Americas. Strongly involved with teaching, they teach at Conservatorio Superior de Aragón, Madrid’s Real Conservatorio Superior de Música, Musikene and the Mozarteum University of Salzburg
