Maria Ling is a name derived from the artist’s birth name. Ling is one of her nicknames given during her childhood while Maria is her middle name. Maria is from both Iceland and the Philippines, giving her a strong background and multiple cultural perspectives. She started to fall in love with music around the age of 4. As the years went by she learned that her love for singing was something she wanted to pursue. Maria Ling has always been surrounded by Rock, R&B, and 80s Music, thus giving her the inspiration to create music around those genres.
