Raised in Milwaukee, WI, Renz Young first appeared on the Milwaukee hip hop scene in 2015 with his debut EP 2975. Born Lorenzo Moody in Chicago, Renz began to build a relationship with music through his mother’s love for hip-hop and his father’s love of poetry. Combining sounds of underground & mainstream hip-hop, 2975 went on to garner local attention, powered by the single Congratulations, which was featured in Pigeons & Planes’ 5 On It section. From there, Renz went on to release numerous singles and projects, landing on publications such as 2dopeboyz, Fake Shore Drive, Elevator, DJ Booth, HipHopDX, Respect Magazine, & more. As a DIY artist, Renz writes, records, and mixes most of his own music, along with most of his own graphic design. In a time where trap beats and simplicity reign supreme, Renz makes sure to add his style of grit and lyricism to everything he touches.
