Pop artist Cat Southall's career started as a backing singer for Welsh language TV shows, which eventually led her to become a session artist for various artists such as Gun, John Cale, Claire Martin, Michael Ball and Leona Lewis. She honed her vocal abilities through numerous live shows and studio recordings. Cat then went on to form her own pop rock band called 'Sal,' which gained a devoted following known as 'Cat's Army' after four albums and extensive touring. She later released her first solo album 'Call of Distress,' which earned her a 'Best Live Act' award and a rave review from KERRANG, naming her "One of the most powerful vocalists to emerge since Skunk Anansie’s Skin." She was then invited to front Ginger Wildheart's power pop band 'Hey! Hello!', toured major festivals and sang on the album 'Hey! Hello! Too!.' Cat joined Welsh legends the Manic Street Preachers as vocal arranger and backing vocalist for 'Postcards from a Young Man' and live guest performer for their UK Number 1 album 'The Ultra Vivid Lament.' Now Cat, determined to pen the next captivating chapter of her tale, got swept away on a neon wave of dazzling disco, infused with the swagger of soul trains, intoxicated by the scintillating synthesizers that dominated the soundscapes of the 70s + 80s. Inspired by legendary artists like Bowie, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Donna Summer, and Janet Jackson. 'Popheart' represents the music that is true to her soul and may redefine Cat Southall as an artist.
