Terreon “Tank” Gully is among the most influential drummers of his generation, a GRAMMY award-winning master of a wide range of musical genres from jazz to hip hop to afro/cuban. Originally hailing from East St. Louis, Illinois, Gully began playing drums in church as a child. His innovative and distinctive sound has inspired Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Stefon Harris and John Beasley’s Monk’estra to make him a bedrock member of their touring / recording bands, while leading to appearances and recordings with a veritable “who’s who” of contemporary artists, from Sting, Common, Me’shell N’degeOcello and Yerba Buena to Nicholas Payton, Kurt Elling and Jacky Terrasson. Terreon’s forthcoming studio recording, “TANKTIFIED”, finds him showcasing his encompassing musical vision as a bandleader, producer and composer across multiple genres.
