Biography

Elements of Formo Sir’s music mainly comes from the Boom Bap music from the 90’s, mixed with some JazzF and Soul. His rap style not only possesses an effortless flow but also different tonalities; hence many artists has dubbed his musical style “melodic rap”. Originally aspiring to be a designer, Formo Sir headed to the United States alone in 2006 to study Illustration. He always loved to listen to music in search of inspiration when he was creating his art. Little did he know that the Mellow/Jazz Hip Hop and 90’s Hip Hop that was playing on the radio went on to become his biggest emotional outlet in life. Frequently conversing, exchanging ideas, and taking instructions from local musicians on the streets of LA, he came to believe that music is a form of communication that rises beyond language barriers. In the journey of creating, Formo Sir has worked with many distinguished musicians and labels from all over the world, such as Tower Da Funkmasta and Goodie K from Juzzy Orange (Taiwan), Link 6 (Colombia and Korea), Thomas Prime (UK), Pe2ny (Korea), Kero One (US). Furthermore, he was appointed by MC Jin to be the warm up guest performer at Jin’s long-awaited first performance in the US. In 2015, Formo Sir carried all the songs he created in the States back to Taiwan, hoping to share them one day with friends who adore him.
