Amalle's devotion to obdurate musical expression traces back to his roots in dubstep and DnB. Since then, his productions have taken the form of a cinematic bridge whisking the worlds of techno, IDM, jungle, breaks and house. Alongside an emotive and intricate approach to songwriting, his take on electronic music deftly straddles the line between the abstract and the concrete. EP's like the techno-driven and experimental Oh No, My Clementine and The Occhiolist tell stories of an unwillingness to mold one’s self into a static state, while singles such as Sorrow's End, Altar and Amble display the sentimental nature of his art. Though favouring original works, the Berlin-based producer doesn’t shy away from remix duties. Spins on the likes of Steve Mill’s The Mistake - Amalle & Yambow Remix, released on True Romance Records, neatly blends garage and breakbeat influences - a nod to the UK sound that continues to inspire his work. Meanwhile, the emotionally charged take on college friends Mad Tree’s Inmerso (Amalle Remix) further demonstrates his versatility as the worlds of indie rock and electronic meet in tasteful finesse. In the end, to remain untethered in the face of rigid compartments - albeit a near-impossible task - serves as the purpose of this project and beyond.
