Biography

Growing up listening to soul and R&B music, Ninsun Poli’s debut EP For Real crowned her the title “Sweden’s soul hope” by the highly respected soul music journalist Mats Nileskär when Ninsun Poli was at the age of 19. The EP drew much attention in the swedish music industry as well as anticipation for her coming releases. Since then, she has opened up for artists like The Fugees, Brandon Flowers (The Killers), toured with Familjen and has been recurring on his albums. That started a musical relationship that continues on today. Ninsun Poli’s soulful voice combined with the critically acclaimed production of Familjen took her into a new space with more electronic influences. She released the EP’s Breaking Rules in 2014 and Great Leap Forward 2015 on her own label after working with producers Jesper Dahlbäck, Peter Ågren and Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn & John). Together with Martin Sköld (Kent) and Johan Wohlert (Mew) they formed the band Closure and released a self-titled EP in 2015. Ninsun has co written all of her songs throughout her career, most of them with her two brothers in their studio at their parents house upstairs living room. When she’s not working on her own projects she writes for others including Familjen, Anastacia, Tom Staar, Salvatore Ganacci, Garmiani, and several others that are about to be released in the near future. Her anticipated coming project is set to be released later this year.
