Skirting the fringes of electronic dance music, Sydney-based producer/DJ SangLien takes influence in everything; from hip hop to garage, jungle to funk, all wrapped together in a psychedelic bow that is unmistakably his. The 2017 debut EP ‘Digital Eskimo’ showcased some of SangLien's earliest musical influences, largely the trip-hop subgenre and the sounds of Warp records. Its ethereal lead single, 'Somday' was played regularly on FBi Radio and Triple J unearthed, before being selected as the opening theme for ‘Hear Me Out' on the ABC. Beginning in 2020, in the depths of a global pandemic, SangLien started the Rinse Out! sellout series of drum and bass events in Sydney. It was the birth of an aural empire that gave many local DJs their start, as well as hosting international acts like DRS, Dogger and Mrs Magoo - all the while culminating his legacy in the drum & bass music scene. A testament to his production skills on an international level, SangLien's bootleg UK Garage remix of Ariana Grande’s single "The Boy Is Mine" was played before an audience of 25,000 people at a major street rave in San Francisco. Taking place in the summer of 2024, the track was included in the opening set for Skrillex and Fred Again. After a brief hiatus in 2023, SangLien is ready to make his comeback with a brand new EP, a label signing and an official hit remix like nothing you've heard before. Get ready for the Northside.
