Growing up in Carson & Long Beach, California comes one of the West Coast’s hottest Polynesian lyricists armed with a distinctive flow and stories that resonate his upbringing, his struggle and his passions in life. With the pedigree of being the nephew of legendary Samoan and West Coast legends the Boo-Yaa Tribe, it was with little doubt hip hop is where he would find his calling into the scene. Growing up the son of hard working parents, his father Samoan and his mother Mexican, the streets were his muse and for many years & this is where he learnt about life and in particular the culture associated with the music. Having been taken under the wing of one half of platinum selling and Grammy nominated artist the Luniz, Yukmouth proceeded to give Monsta the shot he had so badly wanted and in 2002 he first appeared on the hugely popular “United Ghetto’s of America”. As part of the supergroup collective known as The Regime, Monsta collaborated & performed alongside artists such as Mac Dre, Tech N9ne, Ganxsta Rid (Boo Yaa), Prodigy (Mobb Deep) & Luniz to name a few. From 2000-2011 toured the world as part of The Regime alongside Yukmouth and a large supporting cast as well as having tracks on the “All Out War” compilations. Monsta had commercial success with the release of a Polynesian favourite track with J-Boog the hugely popular “This is Love” which is RIANZ certified Gold in New Zealand and charted in the Top 40 for over a month. Now based in Adelaide, South Australia.
