Macious is the visual artist, DJ and producer Mark Crawford. Mark was born in the UK and grew up in Berlin in Germany, when his family re-located there. This has given him a uniquely international outlook to his career in music. After DJing on the Berlin circuit, Mark began making music and DJing as Macious, developing his own style of stripped back melodic house, with disco and techno influences. Mark moved back to the UK to study electronic music and is now based in Manchester. As Macious Mark has performed as both a DJ and live in some of the UK’s most intimate music venues, supporting high profile DJs including Dusky. Macious landed a Hype Machine no.1 in 2019 for his track ‘Simmer Down’, and his first BBC Radio 1 play for his remix of ‘Islands’ by indie band Young Decades in the summer of 2020. In January 2021 he returned with original song 'Take My Light’ featuring vocalist F.A.R., which was supported by BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing Stoke and BBC Introducing Dance. In May Macious returned with his second single release of 2021, "Stay" featuring vocalist Maisie Johnson, who also co-wrote the song. Macious been featured on blogs like Data Transmission, Magnetic Mag, Clash, Acid Stag, About to Blow, and on YouTube by tastemaker channels including Suicide Sheep, CloudKid and FunkyPanda.
