Born in the heart of the Andes, this Colombian singer/songwriter, currently based in Austin, TX, explores through her music and her particular voice a whole palette of sounds and textures, creating a very unique and personal sound. The music of ANA BARAJAS is naturally fueled by diversity, in part, because of her early sonic experiences. She learnt to sing with the traditional music from the Colombian Altiplano, her mom’s favorite and the one played at family gatherings and at age 5 took her first music lessons in a classical music school. Later on she got involved in the Colombian metal scene as the lead singer of various metal bands and as guest vocalist for international recording projects of the genre. Since moving to Austin in 2011, Ana has immersed herself in the local music scene, releasing her debut album "La Botánica de los Sueños" in 2018. Her career boasts a wide range of collaborations, spanning genres from jazz to electronica, metal, and folk. Now, Ana kicks off 2024 with the release of "My Funny Valentine," the second track from her upcoming album "Mango Motel," produced by Phil Spencer. Anticipation builds for the album's full release later this year.
