Back Ah Yards Records was established in the year 2010. It is a small river-side studio situated in Gouyave “The Town That Never Sleeps”, St. John, Grenada, W.I. The name, “Back Ah Yard” stemmed from being in the backyard of Marvin “Powa” Thomas's late grandmother’s house, affectionately known as “Nen-Ennis”, the place where he started learning how to nurture and exploit his talents in song and beat making. Kenneth “Draken” Charles, a music producer with the team, was the one that came up with the idea and it seemed fitting, for a place of humble beginnings. It was from there, a group was formed with young, ambitious men, all who had dreams and aspirations of becoming recording artists. ​
