Æ Espiritu (also known as Ayen) is an underground lyricist and has been writing songs for over 20 years across different genres. Based in Sydney AU, Ayen pursued music in the hopes to share tales of heartbreaks and triumph. As she returns to writing songs after a 10 year hiatus, Ayen continues to evolve. She writes about politics and taboo topics to amplify everyone’s knowledge about social injustices, particularly with women. Her very first rap appearance was in 1998. Ayen is best known for as the 1/3 of Philippine's All-Female Underground Hardcore Rap Group, Tres Mujeres A pioneer member of Mongol Unit And a long-time collaborator of Sandamukal Records which she is now part of.
