FOREIGN is a Bajan-born artist residing in the Greater Toronto Area. The FOREIGN moniker is the culmination of years spent getting to know his deep and diverse cultural roots and the music that sprouts from them. Feeling like a foreigner both in his birthplace of Barbados and his current home, Toronto, a desire was born to fuse the sounds of the two tastefully. From playing trumpet in high school band to recording original music with friends in bedroom studios to organizing his own headlining show from the ground up, FOREIGN has been one to generate opportunities for himself and peers that he believes in. The creative environment he has fostered has seen collaborators turn into friends and friends into collaborators, one of whom is LOCK - a fellow Caribbean Toronto-based artist that put his equal half into Eastcoast as well as their upcoming single titled “Calling”, dropping on May 26th. FOREIGN music exists as a unique take on Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall, and Afrobeat, akin to what you find in his personal playlists such as likkle 1 2. Having spent the first half of 2022 fine-tuning his new records, the FOREIGN story and sound is ready to be continued for anyone who wishes to listen near and far.
