Biography

Jolly Damper is an electro-visual-pop band who combines trip hop, downtempo, dance, dream pop and ambiental experimentation with an audio reactive installation. Behind Jolly Damper are Joan Solana and his collaborators: Carla Serrat, Nick Grimes, Paula Valls, Júlia Colom and Víctor Solana. Born between vineyards, thought in the city. Jolly Damper, named after the piano sustain pedal and Solana’s farmhouse, was created in 2018 summer as the most personal and dared project in Solana’s career after discovering new frontiers in contemporanean jazz with Threejay, gamble with short films and advertising soundtracks, and accompanying several musicians in the studio and gigs. Jolly Damper is a sound and light system who embraces the neon universe as a magical and religious experience with an AVL Show consisting on an analog light control of 6.000 neon pixel LED created by Lumenlab Studio.
