Nienna is an Irish Dj and producer living in Taiwan, who produces UK Garage, Neo Garage and other related UK genres. Nienna formulated the idea to start producing under this moniker while running a UKG club night in Beijing, China, where he was based at the time. Nienna returned to Ireland amidst lockdown, giving him the time and space to commit to the project. At the end of 2022 Nienna emigrated again to Taiwan, giving him a fresh perspective for new ideas and sounds. Nienna is influenced by the classic garage sound of the 90s, as well as the fresh perspective on garage in the current revival. He also draws inspiration from the ethereal melancholy of the Wave and Neo-Grime scenes. Nienna’s music ranges from being often deep and dubby, and at other times atmospheric and introspective. Nienna has a monthly residency on Dublin Digital Radio.
