Sowetoboy, also known as Ivan Mokoena, is a Deejay/music producer currently residing in the United Kingdom and an artist associated with Dansflo production. Growing up in a small town called Soweto in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was heavily inspired by one of the biggest names in the house music industry such as Black Coffee, DJ Kent, and DJ Fresh. He grew to love house music at the age of 15, he discovered his talent for being a deejay/producer he then purchased his first deejay controller and started performing at local house parties and family functions. Though he was a young DJ/Producer, he managed to grow and foster reasonable crowd numbers and quickly gained notoriety from his segments. Sowetoboy combines his easy-going nature with an eclectic group of deejays and producers that each advocate their specific preference for music to form what perfectly mirrors the wants and demands of the audience. He is also a well-known philanthropist towards deep house, afro-house, and electro house music and brings that to the community. Now a regular fixture of Manchester and Germany’s nightlife, Sowetoboy has shared the stage with well-known international deejays such as Caiiro, Prince Kaybee, Dj Sue, Afro brothers, Dj Supta (YFM radio host), Silvva, and Chymamusique.
