Born in 1987, Icelandic composer Þráinn Hjálmarsson, studied composition at Iceland University of the Arts and Royal Conservatoire in Den Haag from 2006- 2011. Critics describe Hjálmarsson’s music as “Fascinating and enchanting!”, “beautifully made [and] delicate”. In his music, the act of listening plays a vital role, where the perception of sound is ever transforming, revealing an obfuscated narrative, unfolding in time.
