Now at 33, Justin's journey has spanned from Philly's buzzing house shows of the early 2010s to Tucson's sun-soaked desert. It was during his stint at Drexel University in Philadelphia, that his sound began to evolve and take the shape we are familiar with today. Here, he formed SHMNS, a band that not only shared stages with Philly’s finest such as Modern Baseball and Alex G but also embarked on multiple cross-country tours. It wasn't long after that JAY PRAY came into existence while living in Brooklyn, NY. For those in the know, the moniker might echo memories of "J Pré", Justin's original solo project from his high school and college days. It's a play on the phonetics, a nod to the evolution of his sound and style, and a name that became an endearing nickname during his college years.
