From the vibrant shores of Mauritius, Jerry Léonide brings a fresh and captivating energy to the music world. Inspired by his guitarist father, Jerry was already performing at seven, channeling the island's rich musical pulse that would go on to define his unique style. By 17, he had relocated to Paris, quickly standing out on the jazz scene with his electric blend of Mauritian groove and contemporary jazz. The global stage soon took notice: Jerry won top honors at the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition, securing both first place and the audience-favorite award, along with France’s Concours Boris Vian. He has shared the spotlight with icons like Christopher Cross, Frank Gambale, and Charles Lloyd, showcasing his versatility across genres. After "The Key" and "Source of the Ocean", Jerry’s Heritage album is as a tribute to Miles Davis, recorded in New York with his trio’s deeply resonant and soulful sound.
