With two middle fingers up to the face of adversity, Jo Saza is a fresh force transcending the conventional boundaries of modern hip-hop. Stomping out from the streets of Dorchester, MA, Saza immerses his listeners in sonic tapestries that outline his story as a young, Black visionary. Growing up in the land of the silenced, he took to creative writing as a means of self-expression and eventually brought the brushstrokes of his mind from paper to playback. As one of the original members of the Boston-based creative collective “HLGNZ” (pronounced “Hooligans”), Saza has proven his artistry through an unparalleled lyrical prowess and acrobatic flow. As the creative alchemist states himself, “A picture is worth 1,000 words, but my words paint pictures.” Despite the cards stacked against him and his community, Saza funnels his experiences and introspection into an unfiltered world designed for the misunderstood.
