A line from Ja’Neeva’s “Don’t Leave” off her upcoming debut EP entitled Buried Thoughts. “This has been latest and most relevant inward struggle. The very reason I have so many buried thoughts.” An Arizona-based singer-songwriter Ja’Neeva has been dancing and singing since performing in her first Easter program at church as a child. However, it wasn’t until Ja’Neeva became an adult when she discovered that the performing arts are indeed where her truest talents and peace lie. How Does she sound? Ja’Neeva’s sound is futuristic yet familiar. Think Sam Smith meets Cynthia Erivo meets Nicole C. Mullen. With a creative usage of layered harmonies and intriguing buildups, Ja’Neeva’s sound mixes elements of Ariana Grande’s catchy hooks and Beyonce’s soothing low range. Ja’Neeva’s experience singing praise and worship drive many of her inspirational lyrics. However, Ja’Neeva says her life experiences are responsible for the authenticity found nestled in her lyrics as well. Collabs & Upcoming Projects Ja’Neeva has collaborated with artists both locally in Arizona and throughout the U.S. Artists from various genres including hip-hop, pop, country, R&B, and soul. Ja’Neeve credits these collaborations for the variety of melodies and chord progressions on her debut EP Buried Thoughts. Her debut EP Buried Thoughts is set to release in April.
