Chair is an Polish duo of multimedia artists, consisting of Cura and Hubert Kurkiewicz. They met through Instagram, spending their first 6 months talking about chairs. Luckily their attention shifted towards music which they agreed to make mainly to attract attention and feel appreciated. Individually however, they each have their own reasoning for making musics - Hubert's needs are nice melodies and ADHD pills whereas Cura just really wants to sing. Among their inspirations can be found Idles, Orville Peck and Talking Heads. Chair released their first EP in 2022 titled “Po Co Muzyka” (ENG: “Why Bother With Music”) in which they questioned the very core of what they were doing. Chair spent the next two years touring with the EP and trying to answer its titled question. During that time they have managed to perform at Męskie Granie, Soundrive, Great September and Off Festival, where they become the first Polish band to play as many as three times during one edition. They also went on to win the FAMA 2022 festival, where they were recognised by the jury in the composition of Jarek Szubrycht, Ula Kaczyńska, Marcin Cichońcki and Michał Taciak with the Maks Szoc award for an unconventional and creative artistic attitude! Now it’s time for a new EP but without any answers they have decided to just do the best they can, with the experience they have and be the Gentle Men that they are (the next ep is titled “Gentle Men”). #slaypunk
