Jake Palumbo is a producer, emcee, mix engineer, dry humorist & the proprietor of independent label SpaceLAB Recordings. A resident of Brooklyn, NYC since 2006, his early DIY hip-hop pursuits began in the unlikely location of Johnson City, TN – quitting his job at Sears to press up his debut “Future Dead Rapper” & beginning a long & strange journey on foot towards the “F-List Stardom” he jokes of eventually attaining through an unglamorous decade of grassroots touring, promotion & building one fan at a time. His latest solo project “Plant-Based Libtard” was released on 7/7/22 via SpaceLAB Recordings / Soulspazm, & is a 12-song deep-dive into scathing humor, political discourse, seething anger & coping with heartbreak. The album follows his previous full-length efforts "The Hundred-Thousandaire Hobo" & "Jake It Till You Make It" in conceptual continuity, but updates the sound with an apocalyptic urgency. As a producer, he has released the critically acclaimed joint LP’s Solving Cases with El Da Sensei, Jake & The Juxxman with Ruste Juxx, Ironworld with Rock Mecca & many more, preferring to craft entire projects for artists instead of chasing placements. He is currently working on new projects with Lex the Hex Master, Craig G, Q-Unique, Westside Ward & more. One of the busiest mix engineers in New York City, Jake Palumbo has been behind the boards for records with Nas, Black Moon, Freddie Gibbs, Artifacts, Roc Marciano, Redman, Slick Rick many others.
