Olga Basanta is a Spanish singer , violist and songwriter living between México and Spain . Her music has all sorts of influences, from jazz and blues to pop, rock and even hip hop, producing a stunning result when put together with her classical studies of Viola. Basanta was born in Villaviciosa de Odón, a small town in Madrid, June 28, 1987 , into a musical family where her talent blossomed early. She started studying Viola when She was 8 and after some years of musical trainning, began studying opera singing at the age of 15. She began writing songs at 18 and since then hasn’t stopped. Having been part of different bands of genres such as pop rock, blues, jazz, and bossa nova has allowed her to grow both as a person and as an artist. All this process has led her to her actual project by herself , with her single “Guerra Fria” obtaining more than 10.000 views in Spotify. Her latest release “Correr” now exceed 70k on YouTube. Her first studio album “Yo Soy” was coproduced by Emilio Mercader and Cinta Negra Music in Mexico City , 2017, released in April, 2019, has six tracks based on a toxic relationship. She has sung in the most outstanding venues in Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica and Spain, like the Auditorio Nacional of Mexico, the Hard Rock of Madrid, Las Ventas, La Riviera, in Spain, or Hard Rock in San José, Costa Rica. Now She is working in her new album that she will share at the end of 2021.
