Robert Merlak is a Croatian musician, radio host and a DJ based in Rijeka. During the late 90s he released two albums, Icepick Tracks and Albumski, on the pioneering avant-garde techno label Phthalo (by the experimental musician Phthalocyanine) which put him on the map next to fellow artists as diverse as Dntel, Daedelus and James "V/Vm" Kirby. After a nearly 20 year hiatus from solo work, Robert released a new album Finomehanika on SWIMS in July 2020. Robert is a member of a prolific Croatian art techno-pop band Marinada whose most recent album “Na vrućem krovu” was released in 2019 and produced together with his brother Miro "Qwerty" Merlak.
