Between dreams of flying, Joe played his Rickenbacker bass in some wicked cover bands in the early ’80s, expanding his horizons & learning to sing. At home, he would spend his time reading comic books & learning every Rush song. 1987 saw Joe & his friends discovering original music, & Joe’s Progressive Metal band Deeler was born. Before it was over, Deeler would make its mark on the metal circuit, open for “Savatage” & “Strutter”, & release 2 albums. In the mid-'90's Joe spent a couple of years expanding his songwriting horizons in a band called "Council Of Cynics". This is where & when the single "The Vortex" originally came from, which was a collaboration between Joe & guitarist Mark Pilkerton. They would go on to write many songs together. The new millennium swept Joe up in the pop-rock world when he joined My 2 Planets as a rhythm guitarist, performing at top St. Louis venues, opening for such acts as The GO-GOs & Rick Springfield. In '02 –‘03 he participated in the creation & recording of the album “The Other Side of Summer”. In 2013 he dove back into the world of prog metal & in Fall 2015 his first solo album was released. The single "The Vortex" came in late summer of 2019. You can find a "My 2 Planets" documentary (in 2 parts) on YouTube which was filmed while Joe was in the band in the very early 2000s. It's called "My 2 Years With My 2 Planets". You can also find a music video of the song "Stick Men" from the solo album & a vid called "Family Tree".
