M.J. Olden is a rapper, singer, producer, and songwriter based in the DC metropolitan area. At a young age, he knew music would be his destiny, as he was always fascinated with instruments, microphones, and other audio equipment. He discovered his gift for singing at the age of 11, mimicking the falsetto of Temptations singer Eddie Kendricks, while developing his low tenor/baritone during his teens; however, hip-hop was a constant presence in his life, since his mother owned an array of what are now considered classic albums from the likes of Busta Rhymes, DMX, and Jay-Z. At the age of 14, he began honing his craft as a lyricist, while also nurturing his passion for the piano; by age 18, he discovered the digital audio workstation (DAW) Mixcraft 5 and began crafting his own beats. In December 2019, he released his first full length project, Imitation Of Life, and has since released 3 other albums, an R&B single, "Natural High" in late 2022, and is producing an R&B EP; a follow-up of the Life As We Know It album, under the working title Pride Of Life, is also in the works, as well as a 2nd Oldenmania project.
