Biography

Recent features on Spotify New Dance Beats and House Special editorial playlists have showcased Rolanoid alongside David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Fred Again, Diplo, Skrillex, Channel Tres, ZHU, Röyksopp, Kaskade, Beyoncé, Tame Impala and Bonobo. The chilled beats and sunny grooves Rolanoid creates reflect the vibe of Tropical North Queensland life in Australia. Featuring alongside Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers and U2 on the soundtrack of the BBC television series Dreamspaces in 2003, Rolanoid exploded on MySpace a few years later soon finding himself in the top 5 alongside major dance artists Paul Van Dyk, Basement Jaxx and Moby and attracting rave comments from Utah Saints, Mark Moore of S'Express, Etienne De Crecy & Mike Koglin. In 2007, competing with 18 000 other entries, his collaboration "Locked In" with Scott Nunan (now Julian Maverick) was a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC). As an 80s teenager, early inspiration & influence came from Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode & New Order. Hard-earned money from school holiday jobs went towards buying the now legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine which later became the source of inspiration for the artist name Rolanoid.
