Finnish actress and singer Irina Björklund is behind Haikus for Humanity, a multilingual musical project combining haikus in 12 languages, energetic music by The Shubie Brothers, photography by Janne Haavisto and graphics by Yann Chapus. The goal of the project is to motivate people around the globe to ecological thinking and collecting funds for One Tree Planted. So when you listen, share or download the tunes, royalties are channeled to planting trees - all you have to do is listen, and share = YOU PLANT TREES! Stars of various fields on different continents have given their voice for the cause, including US actor Daniel Henney, Moroccan mountaineer Bouchra Baibanou, and Unicef Climate ambassadors Ketsia Passou and Emmanuel Jidisa from the DRC. Singles in different languages are launched monthly, culminating in a charity release concert in Finland on September 24th 2022, including a Haikus for Humanity-book and a recycle vinyl, Plant a Seed. “My idea of the project was triggered by David Attenborough’s book A Life on Our Planet. It’s just a must read for everyone - I hope my project will help him spread his important message.”
