Born in Hameln, Germany, Vasco has been making music for over 35 years, making his first studio recordings 25 years ago. He begged his parents for a piano when he was 7 and took to the stage as a singer from age 8. He later explored songwriting and wrote his first musical aged 16. Vasco was offered a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, Boston, where he studied Vocal Performance and Film Scoring. He earned his Masters degree and PhD at the Royal College of Music, London. Vasco's music has featured in BBC's Panorama, Horizon and The One Show, Channel 4's Dispatches, E!'s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC's Dateline. His track Fairies’ Labyrinth has been featured in commercials for Mercedes-Benz, Van Cleef & Arpels and PostNL. His music has been included in compilation albums by Universal Music and EMI. His EP Wanderlust (2017), inspired by Indian folk music and featuring singer Arushi Chopra, has proven popular in Asia. His albums Reflective Piano (2018), Peaceful Piano (2019) and Magical Fantasy (2020) were released by Bosworth for Soho Production Music. Following the birth of his first son Vasco’s family left London and relocated to Geneva, Switzerland in early 2020—just in time to get settled in and locked down. He embarked on the musical journey that became XIX, the culmination of the musically most productive eight months Vasco has enjoyed since he was a teenager.
