Born in Brampton, Swisha Sweetz discovered music was her passion at the young age of 7. As a child she was an avid reader and writer. She indulged in many genres of music with influences ranging from Nickel Back, to India Irie , Aaliyah, to Mary J Blige, Rihanna, Vybz Kartel , Lady Saw , Bob Marley , Air Supply , Rod Stewart, T.I, Lil Wayne , Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. With such a vast variety of influences it is no wonder she is able to create music in Dancehall, R&B, Reggae, Reggaeton, Hiphop, Rap and Pop genres. “My favourite artist at the moment is myself. I love my crafts that I build, I love my music. I use it to inspire myself.” Sweetz’ music reflects the emotions of life, she gives listeners a plethora of moods and feelings that she has felt as she navigates through her life. She often reflects life events in her music, recounting on her stories that most listeners can resonate with. The many relocations in life provided excellent reference to different types of people, environment and circumstance to which she can draw inspiration from. She is able to perceive the world from the top, middle and bottom social classes, ultimately giving us nothing but authenticity no matter the subject matter.
