Dia! is a singer-songwriter who has taken her r&b and neo-soul base and fused it with her other passions of pop, latino music , and dance songs. Born and raised in Philly, she grew up listening to neo-soul. As a quiet, young middle schooler she wrote a lot of poetry and eventually started writing her own songs with influences like Erykah Badu, India Arie and Musiq Soulchild. As she progressed as a songwriter she broadened her horizons and started to venture out into other genres whilst maintaining that soulful essence in her voice. After dropping out of her second year of college, she began to collaborate with local rappers who got her into studios. She eventually started going to studios to record her own original songs and doing indie shows which led her to her first artist deal with Raw-Life records where she was signed for two years. She released her debut album Realignment in 2020. Now under Hiphopsince97 management, she is currently releasing singles in preparation for her next album which showcases her vulnerability and details her most recent break-up, her journey in healing from that, and new experiences in dating with the baggage of that relationship. Dia!’s goal as an artist is to create a space in her music the brings comfort to being uncomfortable. She wants to leave a legacy that heals and makes people comfortable in there own humanity.
