Ghost In The Tapes is a musical project founded by Genshu Fukaya, who is behind the microphone and production and Samy Abboud, multi-instrumentalist and also founder of the French electronica band M.A BEAT!. The unit's creative modus operandi is based on collaboration with diverse instrumentalists and vocalists blended with ever changing production ideas. Since then, the band has moved its base to London at the now legendary Total Refreshment Center, the heartbeat of recent years' UK Jazz scene. The project has pushed the envelope even further while consolidating their identity on their new LP Holidays On Earth, relying more on live instruments and welcoming a whopping 24 guests. The instrumentals are rich with textures, synthesizers, harps, flutes, strings and vocal harmonies that keep on evolving stylistically, keeping the listeners guessing what's next. Topically, Holidays On Earth is about the crew’s perspective on their life transitioning from the quiet days of the pandemic to the burst of euphoria and the shaping of new perspectives and inner voices that came with settling in a new city and environment. Foreign Extra ties it all up in his last spoken word passage featured in the last track: “I split in two and strive to bring back the fun from the beginning…Thoughts growing free now making the best the worst and the worst the best”.
