This upcoming Popstar, based in Toronto, Canada, initially started releasing music in 2020 after teaching herself to produce, engineer and release her own music. Ray released her very first entirely self-produced single “Not the One” on June 2nd, 2020. She then released a new single every 2 weeks to build a catalogue and practice perfecting her craft. Her new singles push her artistry forward and solidify her talent as she moves towards her goal of being a worldwide star. BabyRay knew she was born to make music from a very young age. Her mother exposed her to all types of genres and artists, but Ray took a particular interest in Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson introduced her to dancing and performing. She immediately set her goal of being a phenomenal performer just like him. Ray was also quite the dancer growing up, performing at many talent shows, concerts and school assemblies. BabyRay’s sound has been compared to artists such as Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Tyla, and Rihanna. She aims to make meaningful and relatable music, that tell stories.
