Biography

Damilola Lafiaji, known as DFG, is a Nigerian born rapper currently based in England. A graduate of Bowen University (BSc. 2015) and London South Bank University (MSc. 2018). He is a trilingual rapper who raps in English, French, Yoruba. DFG's ability to tell stories and talk about things, with his distinct flow and delivery, is what makes him stand out. His interest and passion for music started off in 2009 when he will imitate Durella and D'Banj, in his final year in secondary school. He became a fan of Eminem, Sinzu (fka Sauce Kid) , and the late rapper Dagrin, in 2011. These artists made him fall in love with rap music and inspired him to start his music journey which got him to record his first song titled "Niggas From The Hood", alongside Shanxinit and Nameless. As he had no stage name at the time, one of the guys in the studio suggested the name "DammyFineGuy". The meaning of DFG later became "Destined For Greatness". In 2012, DFG went on to release his first project, a mixtape titled "Legal Crime". He released another mixtape in 2014 titled "From A Different Angle". Both mixtapes featured covers of the famous songs by Lil Wayne, Eminem, M.I, Tha Suspect, Ace Hood, Meek Mill, Rick Ross. These mixtapes gained him some popularity in his undergraduate university, and got him featured on the Bowen University Cypher. In 2017, DFG released his official single titled "Red Reign", produced by the late Beats By Jayy (aka Big Daddy Jay).
