Hansjörg Albrecht is a German organist, harpsichordist, and conductor. He started his musical career by singing in the Holy Cross Choir in Dresden, and later pursued studies in organ and conducting in Hamburg, Lyon, and Cologne. He served as organist at St. Michael's Church in Hamburg and went on to work as an accompanist for Peter Schreier before becoming the artistic director of the Munich Bach Choir and the Munich Bach Orchestra. He has conducted many orchestras, including the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI in Turin, the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Haydn Orchestra Bolzano, the Prague Philharmonic, the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Moscow Baroque Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Radio Orchestra. In addition to directing the Munich Bach Choir, Albrecht has also conducted the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Choir of Hamburg. A frequent guest at music festivals, Albrecht has performed at the Gustav Mahler Music Weeks in Toblach, the Settembre Musica in Turin, the Heidelberg Spring Festival, the International Organ Festival in Nuremberg, and the Saar Music Festival. He records for Oehms Classics, which released his recording of his organ transcription of Franz Liszt's A Faust Symphony in 2018.
