J Poet The Underdog Success Story J Poet (Jesse Salvatierra) is an artist of Latin American descent, a first-generation Canadian based in Toronto, ON. J Poet started making music professionally in 2017, and released his debut project in August of 2018. Since he was a child it was his dream to be a famous singer. In March 2017, J Poet traveled to the Himalayan Mountains of India for a 15-day silent meditation retreat. One of his main objectives for this trip was to gain clarity on what he really wanted to dedicate his life to. Throughout this journey of a lifetime, he recalled his childhood and realized his heart’s true desire has always been to be a famous artist. After the trip he arrived back home in Canada, quit his job of 5 years as the top sales representative in Canada for Telus, and began to blindly pursue a career in music. Through the grace of God, “J Poet” was born. Sonically, J Poet is a modern day Picasso, pushing the limits and boundaries of today’s music. He does not follow any rules, he creates music with a pure and loving innocence that radiates throughout each song.
