Laokoon (CZ) adopted their name from a short animated film from 1970, where evil / treachery possesses the mind of every creature and fucks up the whole reality. Laókoón is a name of an old Troian prophet, who warned about the Greek setup. Their debut LAOKOON was released in 2020, includes samples from the aforementioned film and is intertwined with abstraction and a raw sound of bedroom rap. On their follow-up album ŠPERK (2022), Lao garcons decided to shape their sound into a jewel and touch the surface of pop sound with more decipherable meanings in lyrics. The second album was released on vinyl in a limited edition via DIY label Korobushka records. In 2022, an emotionally charged EP cream beige withered about in Lao's catalogue. Four tracks come in phases. First is a love song, second one a break up song, the third yearns completion, the fourth hopes for a new start. It was released on a limited 7-inch on Korobushka records. In 2023, Laokoon completed their new LP, a 12-track record. The album DOPING features collabs with Idea, Arleta, Blue Uandi, Bols/sloB, Slav, Fae Bestia, Obligatne and Jan Kostera. The cover art was done by Denisa Müllerová. DOPING captures data overload and lust to create and produce, rather than a real confrontation with drugs or anabolics. The world becomes a buffet and Laokoon's stomach is a black hole. Vroom vroom
