Biography

Tumelo Ruele (@TUMELOlive) was born in Sebokeng, a township situated south of Johannesburg in the Vaal Triangle. At the tender age of eight Tumelo was already singing solos at church. "I guess I always knew that I wanted to sing, "but I never imagined that it was the heart of my purpose in life", says the Pastor’s kid who finds utter joy in music. Like some other modest talents, his family members and teachers at school always told him of the beauty of his singing voice. Tumelo's debut solo album was released on 10 September 2010 under Soulistic Music, with productions by Zakes Bantwini, stable mates Black Coffee and Culoe de Song. The album is titled “Arise and Shine” and features singles like "My Confession" featuring Zano and “Release Your Soul”. The album features legendary gospel singer Deborah Fraser, rapper J.R and the sensual vocalist Vikter Duplaix from the U.S. In September 2014 Tumelo released his sophomore album titled "Traces Of Love under Soulistic Music. The album features UHURU, Ribatone, Black Coffee, Lindi Maxolo and Rorisang from the group Muzart. The album has smash hits including Bana Ba Afrika, Fantasize, One More Try and My Woman.
In 2017 Tumelo released “Fighting For My Dreams” under Universal Music. The project features Chymamusique, Dj Sue, Afro Warriors and production by Mark Francis and Sculptured Music.
