Mr. Mercenary Smooth One

Biography

KILLA SMOOTH B/K/A K Smooth Born October 23 1975, and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Korey Smith grew up in the mist of hip-hop. With L.L. Cool J, being one of the first artists a young Korey had heard, it inspired him to create his own music. Along with hip-hop elites like Run D.M.C, Twista, Beastie Boys, and many more; Korey was now putting the pen to the pad in January of 1987 with a name of Killa Smooth (meaning: to kill any and everything smoothly). He is the original K Smooth. Fast forward to 1993, and along came Inner City Hoodlumz, founded by Kareem Moore (Latif Seville). K Smooth and his now rapping younger brother Dionta Smith (Sliik D a.k.a Sliik Wayz) teamed up with Seville then added Gerald Warren (Pimp G a.k.a Jerry Vicious) to the group to create what they would label Hood Tapes, which were mixtapes with a rap style they called Hoodlumz Muzik to sell around their neighborhood. In 1995, Inner City Hoodlumz moved to the dirty southern streets of Fairfield, Alabama, where they would come across the man who would change their style forever. With the addition of Andre Weathers (Sekret) to the group with his own created rap style of AlaPlay (Alabama Playin), I.C.H would move into the heavy hitting ranks of the Alabama rap scene. Through the years, K Smooth has done work on the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and The Dirty South, which has people calling him an underground hood legend. K Smooth is Mr. Mercenary Smooth One.
