POPE.LOUD is a producer and rapper from Bowie, MD. He spent his early years making music as a bassist for the post-punk/noise band, VO/ID. Through learning more about the craft, he decided to take it into his own hands. Countless hours of making beats and writing lyrics shaped POPE’s love for making Hip-Hop music. In 2015 he co-founded the record label D.K.T.M. Collective with fellow artists threeeyedmouse and Blk Lexx before eventually relocating to Baltimore in 2017. Mainly through his raw and heavy sonics, he has created a very deliberate display of emotional angst and self-discovering lyrics to explore his own perspective. In 2022, POPE.LOUD along with long-time collaborator Ruhng (also a member of VO/ID) came together again as Convexxity , which then released a 7-song EP titled “What’s Scattered, Made Whole” Even now, POPE can’t overstate his influence from the Punk and Heavy Metal music that he grew up on. Also pulling from his love for ‘90s and Y2K Pop and Rap music, in combination with his skills as a rapper and a producer, he uses his influences to create hard-hitting, groovy, and catchy bangers with introspective melodies and bombastic bass-lines.
