Growing up doing slam poetry competitions and open mics, she realized writing was the gift that would allow her to speak her mind and speak for others that go unheard. Magic fell in love with hip-hop from listening to rappers like Lauryn Hill, Lil Wayne, Chance the Rapper, and Noname so the transition from poet to rapper felt inevitable.
