Singer, songwriter, actress, poet, storyteller… Dridha is a vibrant young musician hailing from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Singing and performing since the age of 7, her Hindustani classical background merges with her experience in reality TV and musical shows to create a powerful, prolific artist who’s old-fashioned at heart and contemporary in vision. She sings in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, merging classical melodies with contemporary energy to create a signature sound - modern yet timeless, with a raw underlying depth. Since 2017, she’s released five singles and one EP under the name Barbie Rajput, the name she was born with. The evolution in her musical styles has mirrored the metamorphosis of her self-perception, values, and beliefs, all of which is encapsulated by the persona she has now chosen for herself - Dridha. Steady, powerful, determined. A goddess of the Earth. She now seeks to intertwine folklore, feelings, literature, and languages to explore the world and her own heart through the power of music.
