Cuervo Cuervo is the project of American producer Benjamin Hill and Argentinian musician Agustin Ganem. The two met in Bacalar, Mexico in 2018. Benjamin witnessed Agustin playing the charango ronroco in the streets of Bacalar and became enamored with the sound. With no way to record, the two exchanged contacts, vowing to stay in touch. A few months later, they both happened to be in Mexico City on the same day. They had enough time to jam for 30 minutes before Agustin had to hop on a plane back to Argentina. In the course of those 30 minutes it became clear that there was tremendous potential for a collaboration. In 2019, the two reunited in Bacalar to develop a project, resulting in their first self-titled album, released with support from tastemaker Andrés Oddone's Cassette Blog in October of that year. This same year saw the duo playing shows all across Mexico, growing signficantly as a live act and enriching the musicality of their songs. In 2020 the duo released a Guatemala inspired piece, 'Atitlan', on a compilationfrom Argentinian label Fertil Discos, and recorded live performances of new material. Facing 2021 with renewed energy, they have collaborated with El Remolón on a track, Frágil, off his new album, Asimétrico, and continued to work towards a new album of thier own while publishing live performances recorded in their respective homes and releasing a series of dancefloor versions of their songs in anticipation of a Mexico reunion in 2022.
