Onien, real name Ognjen Josipovic, is an electronic music producer based in Belgrade, Serbia. Bringing together eclectic electronic backgrounds, his music crosses over deep house and techno into a powerful mix of experiential soundscapes. Onien’s interest in music began at the early age of 7, when he started to learn to play piano. In the early 2000s, he attended his first rave, which included a performance by techno master Dave Angel. The scene, sounds and sights set about the beginning of his musical career. He first began as a DJ and then expanding on to production; In September 2018, among hundreds of other entries, the artist won a competition by Cr2 Records for his remix of a song by Australian electronic dance group Sneaky Sound System. His winning remix for “I Can’t Help The Way That I Feel” was released on Cr2 Records, who described the track as “an incredible piece of melodic techno music with a progressive twist.” Onien’s musical aspirations are simple yet profound: he seeks to spread the pleasure he derives from his musical creativity for the enjoyment of others, be it on the dancefloor and beyond. Onien will soon be releasing new music.
